I have an old Carillon professional Audio PC running WIndows XP on a pentium 4 3.4GHz CPU with 4Mb of RAM. I am running Sonar 3 Producer and have an external Edirol DA-2496 24Bit/96kHz 8-IN/8-OUT Digital Audio Interface box and corresponding PCI Card in the PC. Edirol Um 1 DriverI finally found a way to make it work on my system. I tried all these tricks but the installation just didn't continue after I was asked to turn my FA-101 on. Here's how I got it working! Run device management from Control Panel (or Start->Run devmgmt.msc). ![]() In IEEE 1394 Bus host contollers I had to change my host controller from '1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller' to '1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller (Legacy)'. Didn't even have to reboot and ASIO and everything else seems to be working nicely. Ville Changing firewire to legacy: - Open Control Panel - System / Device Manager - Select 'IEEE 1394 Bus host controllers' - Right click on '1934 OHCI Compliant Host Controller' and select 'Update Driver Software' - Browse my computer for driver software - Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer - Select '1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller (Legacy)' - (There are also two 'VIA 1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controllers' on my system, I haven't tried these) - Next-> Drivers is updated. ![]() Update Windows 7 Drivers FreeOn my system it complains about 'a problem installing the driver software for your device, reason: This device cannot start. IT'S OK, just REBOOT Windows 7 and it should be working. If it's not working (for some reason or other), you can change the original host controller back the same way.
